An update to our previous post on growing bok choy – we’ve now completed our first harvest of the popular Asian vegetable! With the help of one of our AquaGrow Farms volunteers, we harvested 35 “heads” of bok choy weighing in at a scale-tipping total of 6 pounds! If you’re interested in getting involved and “helping us grow”, volunteer shifts are available on our online volunteer calendar.
Now that we’ve got the first harvest of bok choy successfully under our belts and distributed, we’re confident the next harvests will be even more spectacular and we’ll be able to keep providing our food bank clients with a greater variety of nutritious greens year-round!
Wondering how the whole process gets started? Tune in to AquaGrowFarms.ca in the following weeks to get an inside look at how we go from seed to salad!
